A great opportunity to help Japanese exchange students in Oakland for 3 mornings, July 30 to August 1:

Dear JET Alumni and Friends,

I’m looking for someone to help with a group of six Japanese students who are coming to Oakland as part of the Oakland Fukuoka Sister City Association’s bi-annual high school exchange.

These are high school students (5 girls and 1 boy) who will be spending their afternoons visiting various sites around Oakland. We are asking them to meet at the Oakland Buddhist Church on Jackson Street at nine each morning, and we have access to one of the meeting rooms there. One of the group’s chaperones is an American who is currently with the JET program (as an interpreter for  the Fukuoka International Association) so this assignment has some flexibility and could be fun for the right person.

I recognize that many people are working M-F, so this would require someone with a flexible work schedule and who’s available to volunteer. Thanks!

Sincerely, Sue Fischer, Co-Coordinator High School Exchange Program Oakland Fukuoka Sister City Association 510-644-4480 (home) 925-437-9278 (cell)
