As part of a soccer tournament benefit for Japan, JETAANC recently fielded a team of JET alumni, Japanese friends, and Friends-of-JET. On April 13th, Sports4Good, a Bay Area adult recreational sports league hosted a Japan Relief Fundraiser Tournament at Crocker-Amazon soccer fields in San Francisco. Our team played very well and placed into the upper bracket of the semi-finals, but were knocked out before the final game. It was a great event, a ton of fun, and we helped them raise $1,200 to donate toward relief efforts for Japan.
Sports4Good is a Bay Area adult recreational sports league founded in 2001. To date, S4G has donated nearly $63,000 to local charities. The league offers a variety of levels of co-ed competition from recreational to competitive leagues, including soccer, flag football, basketball, softball, kickball, and dodgeball. In addition to the leagues, they also host clinics, registration parties, and white water rafting trips. More information for S4G can be found at www.sports4good.org.
